(cont.) Committing your life to the Lord is a sign, a demonstration, of your love for Him. You can't love Him if you don't know Him.

On Commitment (Part 2 of 3)
Let's take a trip to the not-so-distant past. Let's look back on our childhood days as a Christian. Let's remember the day we were born again.

Memory
Just something I wrote down a coupla days ago. I was...deep in thought, so much so that I couldn't sleep.
Been like that for a few days now. Maybe even weeks.
*sigh*
Anyway...

Keeping memories of painful things--and of the people who caused them--does not necessarily mean being unforgiving or not being able to move on. Because, maybe, in remembering, you'll come to appreciate how those painful things affected your life and how the people who caused them meant to you once...before anything and everything hurtful took place.Do I have a point? I'm not sure. Do I have to have one?

Faith or Fame: Of Which Hall Are You?
I was browsing through the Internet today at the office while working on a project. I stumbled into an article on the homepage. I guess it was my psych-ic curiousity that made me click on the link.
It was about a girl. Well, she's grown up now. And she's really famous. She's beautiful and talented. She sings and writes songs and plays the guitar sometimes in her shows. You prolly know her. You might even be a fan.
And I would have been, too. Because she's a Christian.
Or at least, she was raised as a Christian.
Like Whitney Houston. Beyonce. Avril Lavigne. Jessica Simpson.
This famous singer also grew up in church, and discovered and honed her musical talent there. She was launched as a singer formally under a Christian label before she turned 17, with the self-titled album, Katy Hudson.
Yes, I am talking (ok, writing) about Katy Perry. The singer who brought us "I Kissed a Girl," "California Girls," "Firework," and "Teenage Dream."
Here are some articles where Katy is featured talking about her background and her parents. Click here and here.
I'll let you read first before continuing on the subject. :)

Gap
You're there. I'm here.
It's plain to see
That you can't get anywhere
Near me
I sigh. You laugh.
And you even clap
Your hands together,
Like we can never be
It looks as though
It'll eat us alive.
I cringe at the sight
Of the black hole
That's coming between
Us and what should have been
It's waiting for us
To jump in.
My hands are tied
My lips are dry
You wave at me
Like nothing's wrong
I squint so I
Can see your face
You're getting smaller
Until you're a dot
I look down and stare
At the gap that's there
And I'm scared and disgusted
It's hell.
I blink back tears
Your voice rings
In my head
Like you're just here
"I'm with you,
dear one.
You need not fret.
I'll see you through."
You open up your arms
You're in front of me now!
Then you free-fall
Into the gap
I scream and my heart
Leaps out of my chest
And wide-eyed
I look at you falling
You disappear
Into the dark
But your light
Pierces through
The next thing I knew
You were holding me
And we were walking
Across the hole
The darkness roared
I was afraid
That it would come up
And drag me down
But you, so patiently
Walked me across
The gap
That was once in my way
You gave yourself
Because you loved
Confused and scared
I was.
I fall on my knees
Like a helpless beggar
On the streets
Crying in shame
"Why did you
do such a thing?"
I bawled.
You laugh at me again.
"You know the answer,
sweet child, precious one,
I don't need
To tell you anymore
That I love you,
And no one can change it--
With a love that
no one can give,
I saved you so that
I can be with you.
Don't fret, I'm here
to stay."
"I don't deserve this
Favor so great,
my heart bleeds
but rejoices!"
"Hush, my love,
What's done is past
I don't want to go
And dig it up now.
All I care about is now,
You, here,
I will let you start
again.
But promise me
This one thing--
All I ask is
You love me, too."
"How could I not?
To love you
Is something
I cannot help but do.
I did nothing to deserve
What you did for me
I'll do anything
To pay you back.
I give myself to you,
like you did for me,
I will love you
All of my life."
We walk together
As it should be
To a place you prepared
for us.
My heart breaks
But it is because
Joy has filled it,
Not sadness.
You wipe my tears
Draw me close
You laugh at me
Again.
"Crying is not allowed
In such a place
C'mon,
Let's look around.
Here you can go
Wherever you want
With me
For all time.
I'll walk with you
Dance with you
Listen to your
Sweet singing.
I'll hold your hand
No one will dare
To hurt you--
You are mine."
'Twas then I thought
I know it now
I left everything
In the dark
I can never go back
Not with you here
Now
There is no gap.

A picture of your favorite band
Well, I do not deny the fact that this group is not an actual band.
But still.
Well, ok. Band?
:)
I am unusually out of words right now because I just got home from a camp and a wedding.
Will post more photos soon.

Why I Don't Have a Boyfriend: Random Thoughts in the Train
Ok, keep those eyebrows down, will you? :))
I don't know why I'm even writing this, aside from the fact that I want you, followers and dear readers, to understand or just have an idea of why I (and probably some of my friends--I'm not sure) are not romantically involved yet, have not been at all, and/or are not planning to be in the near future.
Hear me out first! :))

A picture of your favorite hobby
A picture of your favorite hobby
Since I'd been cooped up in the house ever since I got back, trying to rest and let the little illnesses and allergies subside, my best friend has been my laptop and the Internet. (Notice that I get to blog everyday now. Hehe.) So I found this software on Chrome that lets me edit photos.
So as of today, my favorite hobby is funkying up my photos. YEPPY! :D
Cool and super aliw. :)
